YES, The plan for dharavi redevelopment is now a reality, it gets all the clearence from the government & political circles and the bidders are invited from throughout the world for the practical work.

As you all knowing that Dharavi is one of the biggest slum in the asian region, there are peoples of various region exist at dharavi, in fact dharavi is an cosmopolitan city in itself.

From the earlier wood taurpaulin and tin-sheet shanties, every thing is changed now there are buildings from four storey to fourteen storie high rises are in existence at the so called slum, also there are constructions are on the full swing at various sites at dharavi.

Now, the fact is that the dharavi is going to redevelop by the international construction houses invited by our government authorities.

The process button is switched on, the authorities assuring the Dharavi people that the slum which exist prior to year 2000 is eligible for the fruits of dharavi redevelopment tree.

I, am also an resident of Dharavi, cheer to have the fruits of this tree.

But, let it have from our own hands, remember all, that this is simply a tree of redevelopment of Dharavi at this stage, we have to moniter , discuss, and demand every thing which we feel and judge, whatever is proper for us.

The 225 square feet area rooms prescribed by the Authorities for the slum dwellers is not justified.

How can a family who are staying in the duplex( Ground + one floor, somewhere two floors) chawls and slums of the dharavi can adjust itself in a 225 square feet room.

If authorities refer & judge the survey they did in recent times, they find that there are more than 70 percent of the slums are the structures of ground + one or two floor rooms which if calculated anyhow can be more than 300 square.

There are also rooms of more than 500 square feet in the vicinity.

For all this merely a room of 225 square feet is surely not justified.
